Science Assembly Programs: Life Sciences

Petra Puppets

Steve Petra trained at the National Theatre of Puppet Arts and at Jim Henson Productions in Manhattan. Since 1990 he has been a professional puppeteer performing his own scripts, songs, and music. Steve specializes in curriculum-based assembly programs for elementary schools. Shows combine educational content with puppetry, illusions, props, sound effects, music and humor to keep students engaged. Programs include It's Alive: How Our Organs Work, a wild science class where the kids participate; Reading Rampage, a wild language arts class; and Money Math Mania, which gives an awareness of the numerical value of coins and paper currency, place values, budget and interest. Petra Puppets is serving Nassau and Suffolk Counties, NJ, CT, and NY state for the 2014-2015 school year.
