Assembly Programs: Cultural Awareness & History

CAKE Village

C.A.K.E. African Village Assemblies educates and entertains audiences on western, eastern and southern African history and culture through the art of narrating, singing, drumming and/or dancing. Our sub-saharan African culture-infused lecture-demonstration is an interesting introduction to world's second largest continent. Our most popular assemblies are African Folktales, Big Five Safari Animals, The Maasai Tribe of Kenya, Explore & Move - Ethiopia!, Explore & Move - Nigeria!, History of the West African Drum, African Drum & Dance Concerts, African Theatre/Play Ensemble and West African Dance Troupes. This is an enjoyable and memorable way to experience the richness and diversity of the African heritage.

The CAKE Village Educational Lecture-Demonstration has been well-received by daycares and elementary schools throughout the Chicagoland area. We also offer Corporate Diversity appreciation activities.
