Longhouse Reserve
Younger students can focus on color, shape, and form and function during their visit to Longhouse Reserve. Both the gardens and the art reflect the gamut of the rainbow and color theme changes within each season. The design of the landscape offers alleys, hedges, dunes, mazes, an arboretum, a secret garden, and much more. Older students can develop their aesthetic understanding, learn about art production, art criticism, and art history by strengthening skills of observation, interpretation, evaluation, and expression. All students can engage in hands-on activities that emphasize the art-making process. After the tour, group leaders are welcome to use the grounds as a classroom to discuss and engage with the topics covered throughout the tour.
