Tangier Island Cruises

Discover the history of Tangier Island on a narrated boat tour on the Chesapeake Bay with Tangier Island Cruises. Groups will enjoy a scenic cruise to Tangier Island aboard the 90-foot vessel Steven Thomas, which features comfortable seating with a sun deck on the upper level, air-conditioned lounge space, a snack bar, and restrooms. On the tour, groups will see waterfowl and learn about the chain of islands that make up the Tangier Island Sound. Groups will also learn about the history of the other islands of Chesapeake Bay, which include Fox Island, Watts Island, and Port Isabel. Once docked on the island, groups will have the chance to walk the paths visited by Captain John Smith in 1608, and meet residents that still speak with an Elizabethan accent. Groups must call to book tickets.
