Chesapeake Children’s Museum

The Chesapeake Children's Museum is dedicated to creating an environment of discovery about oneself, the peoples, the technologies, and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay area. Hands-on workshops include one hour of structured activities based on a theme of your choice. Themes include Animals; Around the World; Chesapeake Critters; Everyday is Earth Day; Lively Tales; Music, Music, Music; Creating with the Masters; Deconstruction; Native American Spirit; Taking Off!; Sharecropping the Sea; and The Skin You Live In. Preschoolers can can share books, flannel board stories, puppets, and acting out stories along with related art and craft activities. Students will enjoy learning about the local environment with indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting). They can see what critters live in the woodlands and creek, share stories, songs, games and crafts. CCM has planned events for Girl Scouts for the current school year. Troops can also arrange to come to work on badge requirements or service projects.
