By telling the stories of the people who shaped aviation heritage, the Carolinas Aviation Museum inspires groups to write the next chapter. The museum, located parallel to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, allows students, scouts, homeschoolers, and campers to learn STEM concepts in relation to aviation. On display at the Carolinas Aviation Museum are civil and commercial aircraft, the 1903 Wright Flyer, and military aircraft dating back to World War I. Groups can also check out the museum’s award-winning “Miracle on the Hudson” exhibit, which features the passenger jet from the Hudson River crash landing in 2009.
