Discovery Station at Hagerstown, Inc.

Promoting informal learning about science, technology and local history, Discovery Station is an interactive environment that appeals to classes of all ages. In addition to an early childhood gallery, the museum features an interactive gallery that focuses on the animal kingdom, earth sciences, and technology. One section, which puts the spotlight on aviation, includes artifacts, memorabilia, and displays that capture the aviation heritage of the Hagerstown area. Your students will even get to see an experimental Papoose airplane built in Washington County and sit in the cockpit of a Cessna 150 with full instrumentation and indicators. While touring the Morse Code Exhibit, they can listen to an audio of the last distress call from the Titanic and view the collection of telegraph keys and equipment.
