Alexandria Archaeology Museum

Learn about the archaeological resources that are important to Alexandria, Virginia’s past. At the Alexandria Archaeology Museum, groups will become fascinated by Alexandria’s history through exhibits and hands-on activities. The museum’s main exhibit tells stories about the Civil War, curated using historical research, artifact processing, and archaeological conservation. Groups will also enjoy hands-on activities in which they will pretend to be archaeologist and put together objects such as broken plates and other broken artifacts. Educational programs teach groups about the sugar trade in Alexandria, pottery, and more.
