The Valentine

Let history come alive for your group at The Valentine! See textiles, costumes, artifacts, and more at the museum founded by Mann S. Valentine Jr., the man behind the health tonic Valentine’s Meat Juice. Groups can see the sculptures made by the founder’s brother, Edward V. Valentine, in the Edward V. Valentine Sculpture Studio, tour the 1812 John Wickham House across the street where groups can learn about early 19th century life, and more. Educational programs focus on topics such as the Powhatan Indians, Greek and Roman architecture, the Great Depression, Civil War spies, World War II, and Jim Crow Laws.
