The Oriental Institute Museum

A world-renowned showcase for the history, art, and archaeology of the ancient Near East including Egypt, Persia, and Mesopotamia. In conjunction with their tour, students can enjoy an hour of learning about the ancient world through costumes, crafts, and storytelling. Programs available for older classes focus on archaeology, including artifact analysis and a simulated dig. While learning about archaeological practices, groups will draw conclusions about the people who used and created these artifacts. The dig site can also reveal secrets about early agriculture and cities, specialization of labor, and writing. A variety of film screenings are offered as well.
