Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve

Encompassing 2,700 acres of open waters, barrier beaches, marshlands, and uplands, the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve will teach your students the ingredients for making a healthy coastal ecosystem. Educational programs can cover topics such as estuarine ecology, coastal geology, the coastal impacts of climate change, and more. The Visitors Center features exhibits on watersheds, coastal ecology, and also highlights the research conducted at Waquoit Bay NERR. Additionally, the Reserve contains walking trails for exploration, where students can find native plants and may even catch a glimpse of wildlife.
