Monroe County Environmental Education Center

Groups can engage in a variety of hands-on activities, using the Poconos as an outdoor classroom. Outdoor programs at Monroe include a Sensory Hike to build awareness of your surroundings, learning to use a compass in the woods, exploring predator-prey relationships, and more. Nature programs give groups many opportunities to explore the diverse wildlife at the Nature Center - activities allow them to learn about aquatic life, learn about the behavior and nest building of birds, and search for tracks and signs left by animals. Other programs include Who Eats What, a look at food chains, and Nature's Communities, which lets groups study the local ecosystems.
