Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities (SPLIA)

SPLIA was founded in 1948 and is dedicated to preserving Long Island’s cultural heritage. Historical homes are available to tour, such as the 18th-century Joseph Lloyd Manor, which is furnished with some of the museum’s regional decorative arts and crafts. Groups can step back in time through games, food, clothing, a house hunt, a clay craft, and even take on the historic roles of colonial children. Groups are also welcome to take part in environmental programs, where they can study soil, trees, birds, and insects.
