Essex County Environmental Center

Bring your class to this nature center for an investigative field trip program in a wooded wetland habitat. Younger learners use their five senses to learn about plants and adaptations, and can use craft-making activities to explore wood webs, and other environmental concepts. Older groups can find natural subjects to study and sketch on the trail, or use nets and magnifying glasses to study pond life. On a scavenger hunt for painted wooden birds, they can learn about different birds' habitats, behavior, and how they indicate a healthy environment.
