Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum

 
Visit the National Register listed Allan Herschell factory building, where hand carved wooden carousels and numerous amusement rides were produced. Experience a favorite rite of childhood on an old-fashioned 1916 carousel! In summer, ride 4 antique Kiddie rides. Tour the inside of the factory complex while learning the history of the carousel and band organs. Explore the exhibits, a carving shop, and more. Listen to the magical sounds of a band organ. Docent led tours are available for groups of 10 or more, and may include a carving demonstration. Reservations required. STEM, Erie Canal and Carrousel History classes may be scheduled.
