Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium

Home to thousands of amazing animals representing more than four hundred species, including 22 threatened or endangered species. From a panoramic vista of the grasslands of Africa to the rocky grottoes of the Bear Dens, campers will discover the interconnectedness of the natural world through exhibits, educational group tours, and interactive programs. In Polar Quest, campers learn how Arctic creatures survive in their frigid habitat by exploring their unique adaptations and watching the penguins frolic. Campers can discover what it’s like to be a zookeeper through live visits with animals. The Species Survival Plan, an interactive program for older campers, focuses on how zoos are helping to preserve endangered species.
