American Independence Museum

Learn about the story and struggle for American independence with a program at the American Independence Museum. The popular Colonial Living Days program combines the stories of Revolutionary-era people with hands-on activities, such as making herbal sachets, having lessons in the one-room schoolhouse, and trying out colonial games. Students can see history through the eyes of Patriots, Loyalists, and everyday people by reading their letters, scrapbooking museum images, and learning from costumed interpreters. Extensive learning is possible at the Ladd-Gilman House Museum, with its collection of documents, furniture, weapons, artifacts, and possessions.
