Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railways

Experience the scenic gorge views of the Lehigh Gorge on 1920s style passenger coaches. The steam and diesel trains ride from Berk County through historic downtown Jim Thorpe, and also operates several special excursions throughout the year. The 16-mile, narrated, round trip line runs past the Glen Onoko State Park and ends in Old Penn Haven. An Autumn Leaf excursion from the Reading and Northern Railroad headquarters is available as well. Special events such as the yearly Steam Train Excursion to Jim Thorpe take passengers through quaint towns, two tunnels and lush forests on an educational historic trip.
