Lambert Castle Museum

This 19th-century building was fashioned after an English castle and was the residence of Catholina Lambert, an English immigrant who made his vast fortune from silk. It served as the backdrop for his collection of American and European paintings and sculptures. Groups can explore the three floors of the castle, taking in architecture, furniture, and rooms like the music room and drawing room. The first floor incorporates as many original possessions as possible, allowing viewers a way to interpret Paterson’s social and industrial past. Short- and long-term galleries on the upper levels showcase folk art, castle oddities, and local history. First-floor guided tours available as interest permits.
