Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead, New York is a great place to visit anytime of the year! This FINtastic destination boasts more than 100 exhibits and interactive experiences, including the lavish gardens of the Butterflies, Bugs & Birds exhibit, Shark Dive, Penguin Encounter, daily sea lion shows, Sleep with the Fishes Adventure, boat tours, and more. A variety of educational programs are available, all customizable and designed with the help and feedback from professional educators. Long Island Aquarium’s full-service catering division, Atlantis Banquets and Events, is available for all of your special event needs.

Students will enjoy a variety of educational programs at Long Island Aquarium. Students can see sea lion shows, dissect fish, observe sharks, participate in an African penguin encounter, and even go behind-the-scenes at the aquarium! Students can also hop aboard the Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat where groups will get up close with marine life from the bay and estuary. Educational programs align with New York State Learning Standards. Advanced reservations are required for field trips. Teachers receive a free field trip planning visit once reservations are made. Overnight experiences are available. Long Island Aquarium can also accommodate your school group’s special events. Whether a senior prom or end-of-the-year award dinner, we can accommodate functions from 20 to 650 guests.
