Freund's Farm Market

Taking your group to Freund's is a fun and exciting way to teach them about the origins of their food. Groups can tour the dairy farm to see how cows live, what they eat, what is involved in their care, and how they produce milk. Seasonal activities include harvesting a pumpkin and ear of corn (September and October) and planting an annual flower in a cow pot to take home and harvest (April, May, and June). Removing kernels from dried corn ears and popping them into popcorn is an activity that's offered year round. The healthful snack is followed by a discussion of good nutrition.
