New Jersey State House

On a guided tour of the restored legislative chambers, learn today’s lawmaking processes, as well as New Jersey’s colorful and distinguished past. Groups explore their roles as citizens in the legislative process or engage in the Make-A-Law! Program, where they participate in a mock-legislative session: learning the process of bill passage while demonstrating the skills of debate, discussion, and negotiation. Older learners can go on a tour of the State House’s historic art and architecture, while younger learners can explore the many symbols in the Rotunda and main hall, and learn how symbols are used to represent state and government.
