Hereford Inlet Lighthouse

Spend an educational day at Hereford’s unique local treasure. The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse was built in a residential style, combining the keeper’s dwelling and the tower in one structure. Climbing up the tower, children will count 56 steps, almost reaching the lantern room. Period antiques, memorabilia, and educational displays in the house offer a glimpse into what life was like for lighthouse keepers in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Surrounding the lighthouse are gardens planted in the Victorian cottage style, with over 200 plant varieties - the perfect place for groups to enjoy lunch after a historically rich morning.
