Plimoth Plantation

Give your class trip an unforgettable and fascinating look at the lives of the Native Wampanoag People and the Pilgrims who settled in Plymouth County. Begin their outing at the Visitor Center by seeing a short film about Plimoth, and then visiting the Shelby Cullom Davis Gallery and the Family Discovery Center, where students can try on colonial clothes, play Native games, and raise the flag aboard a small, open boat. The Wampanoag home site is an outdoor living-history exhibit that includes different types of homes including a mat-covered wetu (house with three fire pits). Your students can also board the Mayflower II, a recreation of the original 17th-century vessel. In addition to self-guided tours, you can reserve a guided tour based on a theme, such as Native culture, timber-frame construction, or navigation. Plimoth also offers hands-on workshops and overnight programs for groups of 15 or more.
