Old Sturbridge Village

Your class will live and breathe New England village life from 1790 to 1840 as they meet costumed historians and tour antique buildings, including a country store, school, and water-powered mills. At Freeman Farm, they will learn how much work was involved in preserving food to last through tough New England winters, and meet some of the typical animals reared on a 19th-century farm. You can also register your group for a 30-minute-interactive Village Classroom program, which takes place in one of the Village exhibit areas and is led by a costumed historian. You can also have students participate in an overnight history program, which begins at 6:30PM and includes sleeping outdoors in tents and a morning performance that ends at 9:30AM. The program fee includes an evening snack and a continental breakfast.
