Hanford Mills Museum

Hanford Mills Museum’s on-site educational programs are designed to be engaging, interactive, and to meet New York State and Common Core curriculum standards. This authentic working sawmill, gristmill and woodworking shop makes for a great and informative historical field trip! Engaging educational programs explore themes like power generation, mill production, transportation, community, and even ice harvesting. All programs, except for ice harvesting, include a tour of the water-powered mill with demonstrations of the waterwheel, water turbine, and woodworking machines.
