Salt Marsh Nature Center

Groups can come to the Center to visit and learn about Brooklyn’s largest park, which features 530 acres of grassland and salt marsh, and is home to a multitude of wild flora and fauna. At the Center’s Natural Classroom, Urban Park Rangers use the plants and animals of the salt marsh as object lessons in a wide variety of subjects, including ecology, botany, and ornithology. Tours also focus on Brooklyn’s cultural history, with educational, entertaining details about the development and expansion of parks and the role of the parks system.
