New York City

Queens Botanical Garden

Groups can enjoy this 39-acre urban oasis, which contains thematic gardens and historic plantings as well as gardens with sustainable landscape practices. The Garden offers guided tours and educational programs tailored to any age group as well as A Green Trail Guide for groups wanting a self-guided tour. In the Plants We Eat program, groups walk around the garden, discuss which foods come from what plants, taste edible roots, stems, leaves, fruits, and flowers, and then plant seeds to take home. Another popular program is Honeybees, where groups learn about the amazing world of bees, observe an active hive, taste honey, and make a beeswax candle.
