Whitney Museum of American Art

Using the Whitney’s 20th-century and contemporary art, groups can participate in thematic tours such as Artist as Observer, to learn how artists represent the people and places around them, or Artist as Critic to explore artistic responses to social, political, and cultural climates. By examining artists' ideas, materials, and processes, groups consider the multi-faceted role artists play in American culture and society, and are challenged to be critical observers of their world.
