New York City

Museum of the City of New York

Bring your group to this art and history museum and fill their day with hands-on, interdisciplinary learning. This museum is dedicated to interpreting the character of the city, its heritage, and its changes over time. See portraits of early New Yorkers, and study the techniques artists used in bringing the mood of the city to life through painting. Learn about urban planning, and construct a model neighborhood using 200-year old plans of New York. Create a storyboard to understand how early Native Americans used the island’s natural resources, or chart the history of immigration, using documents and census data.
