Museum of Chinese in America

MOCA encourages the understanding of Chinese American arts, culture, and history through its gallery and walking tours of Chinatown. Gallery programs provide an overview of Chinese culture in America from the 19th century onward: your group can learn about the waves of Chinese immigrants and how they adapted to their new lives, while handling artifacts in the museum, and going on a gallery hunt to find signs of Chinese folktales, animals, and other traditions depicted in the museum’s collections. Walking tours make use of historical photographs and illustrations to demonstrate how the neighborhood has both changed and stayed the same.
