Houston Arboretum & Nature Center

Reconnect with nature at Houston’s 155-acre sanctuary. Groups are introduced to topics in the classroom before going outside for a hands-on field adventure. Study the adaptations of different animals, create a food web, and explore plants, logs, pond life, and the interactions between different parts of the environment. Survey an aquatic habitat, and learn the story water samples and aquatic life tell about their environment. Programs in the Discovery Room feature interactive exhibits including aquariums, microscopes, puzzles, and the Learning Tree which gives an up-close look at the many organisms that call a tree their home.
