Project Liberty Ship, SS JOHN W. BROWN

 
Located at Pier 1 on Clinton Street in Baltimore Harbor, Project Liberty Ship, SS JOHN W. BROWN is an operational museum ship that served as a merchant ship during World War II. Built in Baltimore and launched in 1942, the ship is named after labor union leader John W. Brown. School and scout groups can tour the ship and see its educational and historical displays, which include photographs, newspapers, postcards, books, letters, and more that describe the wartime merchant marine. Educational programs are available as well as Living History cruises. SS JOHN W. BROWN is also available for charters and events.
