West Virginia Independence Hall

Take a tour the West Virginia Independence Hall. Part of the Civil War Discovery Trail, the building was constructed in 1860 under architect Ammi B. Young. It was originally built as a custom house for the Western District of Virginia. On the tour, groups will see the building’s unique architecture and interiors, which have been restored to look as they would have in the 1800s. Rooms feature period furnishings, and the property has many statues for groups to see. Exhibits feature Civil War artifacts, informative displays, and more. Groups can request a guided tour with a costumed interpreter.
