West Virginia Veterans Memorial

See the memorial that honors over 10,000 West Virginians who lost their lives in various wars throughout history. Located on the Capitol grounds, the memorial is composed of four limestone monoliths surrounded by a reflecting pool. The monument’s interior walls are made of black granite, and features the names of the West Virginia men and women that fought for our country. Names represent those that fought in the Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I & II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and the Gulf War.
