Kanawha State Forest

Located near the Kanawha Valley, the Kanahwa State Forest offers groups 9,300 acres of lush green where they can enjoy a variety of fun activities while experiencing nature. Groups can have a picnic, take hikes, go mountain biking, ski, fish, and more. The forest is home to many species of birds such as warblers and songbirds. Groups will also spot a wide range of flowers and edible plants such as wildflowers, bloodroot, and more. Groups can also camp overnight on site on the campground, which features two bathhouses and laundry facilities. Reservations are taken from Memorial Day to Labor Day, first come, first served.
