Spartanburg Art Museum

The Spartanburg Art Museum collects historically significant paintings and works on paper. Works in the permanent collection include watercolor and oil paintings, etchings, lithography, and woodcut prints, mainly from the early to mid-20th century; notable artists include Margaret Law and August Cook. The museum is additionally dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art through its rotating exhibits. Group tours are available of the museum, with an emphasis on exploring artists’ visual thinking and connections between art, culture, and personal experience. The museum also offers art school programs - allowing youth to explore the galleries, learn drawing and painting, and more.
