General John A. Logan Museum

John A. Logan was a Civil War general, Illinois senator, and vice presidential candidate in the 1884 election. Today he is also remembered as a founder of Memorial Day, and an advocate for early civil rights. Exhibits include Logan’s early life, his time in the Civil War, and his involvement in both political parties. Throughout the year the museum also has general exhibits about the Civil War and its impact on history. While at the museum, groups will see photographs, portraits, family antiques, and political and Civil War memorabilia. This is also the site of several historic homes, and an interpretive walking trail.
