New York City

Henry Luce Nature Observatory

Introduce your group to the wonders of nature and wildlife at The Observatory, which is housed inside Central Park’s beautiful Belvedere Castle. The observatory has panoramic views of the park and is an excellent spot to birdwatch. Inside the observatory are natural history artifacts such as skeletons and papier-mache birds, as well as microscopes and telescopes, to give visitors a feel of what it is like to be a naturalist. Discovery Kits at the observatory include binoculars, field guides, a map, colored pencils, and a clipboard with paper to help groups record nature findings in the park.
