Archbold Biological Station

Learn about Florida’s plants, animals, and nature cycles at Archbold Biological Station. Groups will discover the Florida scrub habitat on a nature tour, a visit to the weather station, and in the Learning Center’s exhibits. Activities include animal tracking, meeting a snake, and hiking the site’s many trails. The station also offers groups a chance to explore the relic dune island Lake Wales Ridge, one of the world’s most rare endangered ecosystems. Groups must have a minimum of 10 people to receive a guided tour. Maximum group size is 25. Pre-visit lesson plans are available on the Archbold Biological Station’s website.
