State Theatre New Jersey

School-day matinees at State Theatre New Jersey are an exciting way to expose students to theater while also creatively exploring music, history, the sciences, and performing arts concepts. A range of stage productions and adaptations, from classic children’s books to ballet, comedy, and music, can be booked for your school and homeschool group. Specially-designed study guides are available from the State Theatre New Jersey website, with materials for educating students on the history of the production, as well as written exercises and discussion questions to help them develop their interpretive and analytical skills in theater. Since 1988, State Theatre New Jersey has introduced nearly a half-million students to the performing arts, both at the theater and in the classroom.
