Bannerman Castle

Located on Pollepel Island, Bannerman Castle was once a storage site for military supplies during the 19th century. Accessible only by boat, groups can explore the mystery of the Bannerman Castle through a tour of the island and multimedia plays. Guided tours allow groups to learn about the island’s history, the famous Bannerman Castle, the Bannerman residence, and the Bannerman Garden. Tours leave from Beacon and Newburg by kayak or passenger boat. Groups can also see Bannerman Island Voices, a play presented by Theatre on the Road and The Bannerman Castle Trust to learn what it was like to live on Bannerman Island through members of the Bannerman family. In-school presentations feature a shorter play called Bannerman Island Voices - Whispers from the Castle Keep.
