Tackapausha Museum and Preserve

A historic and beautiful sanctuary of oak forests, ponds, streams, small mammals, and birds, all of which can be viewed via five miles of clearly marked trails. The museum offers a variety of environmental education programs involving Long Island's natural history, featuring exhibits on Long Island ecology, and presentations covering multiple areas of wildlife, such as birds of prey, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. Groups are also invited to get hands-on with docent-guided nature walks and bird watching.
