Blackbird State Forest & Education Center

Encompassing more than 4,800 acres of land, Blackbird State Forest is the northernmost state forest in Delaware and offers more than 45 miles of trails for hiking and other physical activity. Groups will develop a sense of local ecosystems and also have the opportunity to stop at the various camp sites, a picnic area, and even a catch-and-release fishing pond. A paved trail and a pathway with other educational displays are available as well. An education center is open by appointment. Visitors are advised to consult the current schedule of hunting seasons if they plan to go hiking.
