St. Jones Reserve

This reserve is located on the north shore of the St. Jones River, and includes brackish-water and salt marshes, farmlands, and meadows. Learn about the wonders of estuaries and their complexity while engaging in activities and collecting data. Study horseshoe crabs and how they adapt to their environment, or use test kits to learn about water quality and pollution in the marshes. Explore the hiking trail and use a field guide to identify local plant and animal life. At the St. Jones Center, see fish tanks filled with local species. Classroom visits and other programming can be arranged by appointment.
