Fort Dupont Ice Arena

The Fort Dupont Ice Arena is the only public indoor ice rink in the city of Washington. It is named an America’s Promise “Safe Place” and provides a safe place and structured activities for young people. Operated by the Friends of Fort Dupont Ice Arena, the arena offers the Schools Skate For Fitness program designed to meet the physical education requirements of elementary, middle and high school students and to promote physical fitness. Teachers are encouraged to return with the same group for a full ice skating curriculum. Students will advance beyond the very basics and truly develop recreational ice skating skills. School visits include a 15 minute orientation, 25 minute on-ice lesson, and 20 minutes of free skate time. Permission slips are required for students under 18.
