San Jacinto Battleground & Battleship Texas

Walk the battleground and relive the famous battle for Texas Independence on a tour of the San Jacinto Battleground. Granite markers throughout the park show the locations of the Texan camps, the Mexican camps, the site of the advance by Texan forces and other strategic parts of the battle. Groups can spend the night aboard the ship as part of the Battleship Texas Youth Overnight Education Program. Sleep in the crew quarters, tour parts of the ship closed to the public, and experience life as a sailor during World War II. Guided and self-guided tours of both sites are available.
