Mayborn Museum Complex

Explore history and science on a visit to the Mayborn Museum Complex. Explore science exhibits such as Water and Bubbles; Simple Machines; Health, Optics, Sound; and more. Then, travel back to the 1800s to learn about Native Americans and early Texas pioneers. Compare life as it was then to now, with a visit to a late-1800s riverfront community. The Historic Village consists of a series of 19th-century buildings, including the cook’s house, commissary, planter’s house, and schoolhouse. Groups unable to visit can request an educational Discovery Box for their school, covering topics like history, natural science, and different cultures.
