Rockingham Historic Site

Learn about what life was like in 18th century Colonial America. The house served as General George Washington’s headquarters towards the end of the American Revolution. Groups can tour the first and second floors of the house, complete with 18th century furnishings. Groups can also enjoy reenactments, learn about how death was handled in the 18th century, see a sheep wool spinning demonstration, enjoy a performance by The Practitioners of Musick, and more. The site’s kitchen garden is also available for tour featuring 18th-century plants herbs, flowers, berry bushes, an apple tree, and much more.
