Tweetsie Railroad

All aboard the Learning Express, where students and scouts can learn all about the importance of railroads in American history. Groups will embark on a wild west adventure, and see how trains helped the American frontier, and how many people in rural areas depended on trains for travel, food, and mail in the early 20th century. Learn how a steam engine works, the history of the East Tennessee and Western North Carolina railroad, and how Tweetsie came to be one of the nation’s first theme parks. With rides, gem panning, exciting shows, and the chance to get up close with critters at the Deer Park, Tweetsie makes an exciting and educational field trip destination!
